Brothers and Sisters UNITE!

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

I climbed the 600+ winding steps to the top of Michelangelo’s Cupola at the Vatican. Wow! The views from the top are amazing and we got to hear the Pope give his weekly address.

“We” is my new friend Linda from New York.

After admiring the amazing architecture and ambiance of the Vatican Linda and I stopped by a cafe and enjoyed an espresso. We talked about our upbringings, our religions (She’s Jewish and I am Christian) and even our views on the Middle East, our political views and even the end of times!

It was DELICIOUS conversation…

Then we walked along the Tevere to Trastevere, where my flat is and we made a salad together (with a $9 avocado!) and continued the conversation…

Conversation that most people shy away from. You’ve heard it said, “Never talk about politics and religion.” Well, that’s probably good advice for most people who come from lack, limitation, judgment and always feel they must PROVE and DEFEND their choices and beliefs…

What about you? How do you react to people who are different than you? It’s really something to look at…

If you’re up to living a new level of LIFE, choose to respect and even welcome the differences. And notice the amazing similarities! We really are brothers and sisters, created by the SAME GOD, all with royal blood flowing through our veins.

Reach out to someone who is DIFFERENT than you today. Welcome them in your home, in your conversation, in your life and allow what you can LEARN from them enrich your life experiences.

ONE God. ONE Spirit. ONE Energy. ONE Love.

Did I tell ya, “I love you, too!”

What do you do when you get lost?

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

Dear Friend;

The taxi driver dropped me off in the village Trastevere where I am staying in a home here in Rome for 2 weeks.

This is not a hotel and has no concierge, taxi service or English Speaking people!

I couldn’t get the lock to turn over and struggled with the key for nearly an hour! I felt myself begin to cry. Then, a man walked by me, said something in Italian and took the key from me. He jiggled it several times, leaned into the door and wa la!
It opened. YES!

Then, as if that wasn’t enough drama…

I went out that afternoon to explore. I forgot the address of the flat and shrugged it off knowing I am good with directions and will find my way back. Well, hours later, when all the shops had opened after siesta, the streets looked very different. I couldn’t find the green door that leads up to my flat! In fact, I found dozens of green doors!

I walked around for quite a while. No one speaks English as this is a village.

Finally, I saw a taxi driver go by. I waved him down and asked him where is the apartment building with a 9 on the top of a green building. He actually laughed at me saying, “You didn’t bring the address? You don’t have the phone number?” “Do you know how many buildings have a 9 on the top of them?” I felt him saying to me (as I was beginning to say to myself) “You are an idiot!”

“Idioto!” In Italian!

As he drove away, I did the most powerful thing I could do (beside know the address and buy a map!)… Can you guess what that is?

I prayed…

I stopped walking. Stood still and asked God to give me a Supernatural knowing and to Divinely guide me to my flat. I began walking in a certain direction and within 2 minutes
I was standing in front of another green door. I looked up and there was a number 9! I walked into the building, ran up the 3 huge stair cases, put the key in the lock, jiggled it and leaned into the door, walked in my flat and began to cry!

I was SO grateful for God’s Divine Guidance and for leading me home safe and sound.

What about you?

Do you need to ask for direction today? God has a Divine Compass for you, too! And you don’t have to be lost in Rome to ask for guidance and direction in your life!

Another piece I want you to get in this story is that I DID NOT go into judgment of myself. (Even when the taxi driver looked at me like a stupid blonde American!)

I want you to stay in the highest respect of yourself ALWAYS… even if you do silly things ~ even stupid things. YOU are SO loved! SO precious! And SO deserving of God’s Best! No matter what.

May you feel God’s RICH love over you today!

PS This morning I bought a map and took myself to Piazza San Pietro and back and I didn’t even get lost!
