Nudges. Promptings. And Divine Plans…

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

It’s so hot here in Rome, I decided to stay in and write for the day. Then, around 12:30pm, for some reason, I put my shoes on, grabbed my purse (and camera of course) and I started walking along the Tevere!

What do you do when you get these “promptings” as I call them…

It’s just like an “out of the blue” impulse to go do something, pick up the phone or go visit a friend. Do you act on them or shrug them off and “keep to your schedule”.

I have found that when I follow those promptings, delicious things always happen! And today was no exception. Within 5 minutes of leaving my flat, I heard a sweet voice say, “Are you from America?” “Yes!” I replied as I met my new friend Lynda!

Lynda and I spent the entire day together jumping around Rome, shopping, site-seeing and talking for hours about our careers, our children, guys and life! We had so much “Girl Fun”!

Who knew that the prompting I received earlier today would turn out to be so great.

Here’s what I really want you to get from this post… You are getting these promptings ALL THE TIME. It’s just that, if you’re like most people, you quickly disregard them because you need to keep to your schedule or you have “things to do”. Give yourself permission to follow these promptings.

The person you’re “prompted” to call, may just be the contact you need for your next contract. The lady you’re “prompted” to send a card to may be in tremendous need to hear a kind word.
The bookstore you’re “prompted” to go into, may just be the place you meet your next great friend or client!

These promptings are always Divinely Inspired. TRUST them and watch your life move into a whole new level of living!

To your success,

The Beauty of Solitude

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Dear Friends;

Writing to you every day has brought me such comfort as I have been alone for over 2 weeks now… So, thank you. But, I also notice a beauty in solitude and even a power that doesn’t exist in “normal” life.

Do you allow for solitude?

Let’s talk a little about the importance of this quiet, sacred space…

Solitude gives you a greater connection to God, to the Holy Spirit and even to your own Divinity. We forget we are made in the image and likeness of God! Solitude helps us reconnect to that space in each of us that is Spiritual ~ even Divine!

Solitude gives you the opportunity to NOTICE the purpose of all things… When you quiet your mind and give yourself the space to contemplate, you notice there is a purpose to ALL THINGS…

I’m reading this delicious book about King David and at one part of the story he is in the fields tending to his sheep and watching a spider spin its web. He says to himself, “What is the purpose of this insect?” and let’s the though go…

Then, years later, he is in a cave hiding out from King Saul who is trying to kill him. He actually hears Saul and his 3,000 men walking up to the cave and he knows he is a goner! Then, to his surprise the King and his men WALK RIGHT ON PAST. When David approaches the opening of the cave, he realizes that a spider had spun a web so thick over the opening of the cave, Saul and his men walked past knowing no one could possibly be inside or the web would have been broken. Wow! It is written that David thanked that little spider saying, “You are wonderfully made and I praise the God who created you!”

Solitude helps you NOTICE the purpose in everything. Take heart my friend! Your life has this same amazing purpose, too. And solitude helps you realize it…

Today, I spent the morning writing in front of The Pantheon. It’s Romes only architecturally intact monument from Classical Times… from 80AD! In 609 it was turned into a Christian Church and now holds the bones of several Christians from the catacombs.

Then, this afternoon I spent time writing in an adorable cafe above the Spanish Steps! The staircase was built by Francesco de Santis in 1723 and the fountain in front of it was built in 1629. Such a sweet piece of history!

Can you guess how many steps make up the Spanish Steps? Post your guesses (without looking it up) and the one who is the closest gets a prize!

My purpose is to Connect people around the world and create ONE Spirit. That is why I posted on FB that I would love to send postcards to you from my European Tour. What a joy it has been to personalize over 25 postcards to people from all over the world! I would love to send one to you, too!

For today, honor solitude and just watch what gets created in that powerful space!

I’ll check in tomorrow from the Vatican!

I toured the Colosseum today…

This amazing structure was built in 81AD!
It held 60,000 people in its day. Then, I viewed the Roman Forum which was built in 498 BC! This amazing structure makes your jaw drop…

It got me thinking about the mind-set that the people of ancient Rome must have had… They were BIG thinkers; designers of beauty; creators of colossal structures. I wonder if they ever thought to themselves, “Hmmm… is this too ostentatious?… Am I being a little over the top?” Or did they think to themselves, “Will I be judged by other parts of Italy? Maybe Asia will make fun of me!”

Of course they didn’t! It even sounds silly… But, if you’re like most people, you question what others will think of you all the time. And this can cause you to hold yourself back, suppress your self-expression and mute your contribution!

May it never be for you!

Remember, Boldness Gets Rewarded! Give yourself permission to follow your God-Given Dreams! Think BIG. Let yourself envision God-Size Visions…

I have a client who is taking on the total transformation of Africa! Yes, she lived and worked among the people as a doctor and researcher for decades and now has a business opportunity that she bringing to the people… to create entrepreneurial mind-set!

This God-Size vision is happening. And she is attracting the people, the ideas, the money and the support to transform an entire continent!

What about you?

What’s on your heart to create? to transform? to make a difference for? Give yourself permission to Dream Big, Design Big and BE Bold in your actions…

Even in my life I have to deal with other people’s judgment of me. My children are on their own in our home while I’m on the European Journey. They have to shop, cook and clean for themselves; get themselves to work and even take care of our 2 puppies! I trust God has given them the maturity to handle ~ even thrive this summer on their own ~ even when I received different thoughts from others.

Follow your own Compass! God has a specific and unique plan for you that is BIGGER than you are thinking right now. Dare to GROW and follow that bigger vision! The world needs your boldness.

I’ll check in tomorrow from the Spanish Steps!

To your success,

LISA
