The 1% Extra Effort Philosophy GETS RESULTS!

Some people create a change in their life with a radical move. They quit smoking ‘cold turkey’.

They cut up all their credit cards. They throw out all sugar in their pantry.

While these drastic moves work. Psychologists agree the most definite way to create long-term change is with small, intentional moves that add up over time.

If you want a savings account, begin saving a small portion of your weekly income. If you want more sales, increase your amount of sales calls by 1%. If you desire a greater connection with your kids, initiate the relationship by being available 1% more of the time. If you want to finally get into physical shape, get up a few minutes earlier every day and go for a walk.

These 1% extra efforts create success habits that build on each other and produce extraordinary results!

When Southwest airlines began really taking off all other airlines were on the decline. Owner, Herb Kelleher was asked how he turned his airlines into such a great success. His answer was, ‘We didn’t try to be the best at everything in our business. We just focused on working 1% better in every area.’
These small, deliberate, and consistent extra efforts add up.

They build on each other to produce immense results.

You can create more time by applying the 1% extra effort principle. If you got up an hour earlier every day, you will create 15 extra days in a year!

How to Tap Into The “Tipping Point” for Greater RESULTS!

So, there I was sitting at my local coffee shop, wearing my “LifeShotz” shirt, sipping from my “LifeShotz” bottle, “LifeShotz” brochures in view along with a few sticks of “LifeShotz” placed strategically next to me…

Sure enough, within 15 minutes, 3 people asked me what was LifeShotzs and I had my opportunity to share and invite.

Yep, that’s one of the best ways to market; let your lifestyle represent your product or service.

Think of it like this… When you wear a Nike shirt, have the LA Fitness card on your key ring or put on your sport’s team baseball cap, you’re marketing their brand.

You’ve been doing this all your life. It’s time to do it for your own company or product!

Wear your company’s shirt. Have your product in view wherever you go. Have your email signature announce the next trip, car program or other exciting news about your company.

Let your lifestyle represent your product or service. Become a walking brand!

In Malcom Gladwell’s book, “The Tipping Point” he talks about that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold and spreads like wildfire.

Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause the popularity of your product or service.

It’s the little things done consistently that can make a big difference. That’s what you’re doing when you consistently wear your company’s shirt, walk around with the product, spread out brochures next to your laptop in the local coffee shop, send a specifically targeted signature in every email and post exciting (and content driven) posts in social media venues.

It’s called drip marketing.

A consistent drip of water on a solid rock can create a cavity so large it looks like a drill was used!

That’s the power of drip marketing; a targeted, consistent drip of information and inspiration will cause the Tipping Point in your business.

In all the Business Coaching I do for our industry, I’ve noticed the “Tipping Point” in other areas of Network Marketing and Direct Sales as well.

Consider prospecting…

When you have at least 20 people in your recruiting pipeline, you’ll hit a “Tipping Point” where everything begins to get real exciting!

Another Great Habit of Success. This is a GREAT one!

So we’ve been talking about Core Habits of the successful. In the last post I shared the importance of RICH thoughts, beliefs and words.

Today’s message is about ACTIONS.

Successful people have rich actions.

Two months ago I went to Nordstrom with my daughter Auriana. We walk into the coffee shop and I lay eyes on the most amazing peanut butter and chocolate dessert. I’m salivating as I suggest to Auriana that we treat ourselves and split it. When she turns me down I reluctantly order just a coffee and reject the tempting dessert.

A few minutes later a gentleman in his late 70’s walks over to our table. ‘I could tell how much you wanted this,’ he says as he places the peanut butter and chocolate delicacy in front of me. ‘Let me treat you today.’

That dessert only cost the man a few dollars. But the impact it made on both Auriana and myself was profound.

Several months later, Auriana is in the mall with her cousin and a friend. They decide to have lunch in the food court. When it was time to pay for their order, Auriana pulls out her money and announces she wants to treat them all to lunch!

On the same day I’m at a convention in New Orleans. I’m in a long line at Starbucks waiting to order my cappuccino when the lady behind me strikes up a conversation. The next thing I know we are sharing stories of our lives and laughing together like we are long lost friends. When it is finally my turn to order, I tell the guy behind the counter to put this lady’s cappuccino on my bill. You would have thought I bought this woman a convertible Jaguar!

You know what? That cappuccino only cost me three dollars and fifty cents. The lunch only cost Auriana six dollars. The dessert only cost the man a couple of bucks. What a small price to pay for the rich feeling that these actions produce.

Are your actions rich?

When you have prosperous thoughts, steeped in sound belief, when you utilize an abundance of bold, rich words, and you make it a habit to carry out fruitful actions, your life is very rich indeed.

Think. Believe. Speak. Act.

they use rich words.

Words are power! They influence, captivate, and
entice people.

Words have the capacity to penetrate and change a
negative mood or atmosphere.

Words have the ability to create an outcome.
Words create your WORLD!

Rich words create a vibrant and pulsating
atmosphere ~ instantly.

You have this power. You navigate your world by
the thoughts you think, the beliefs you hold,
and the words you choose to speak.

Let’s take a pop quiz! Answer these questions
about the words you choose to use.

Do you use rich, bold, and descriptive adjectives?

Do you have a word in your vocabulary that is
overused?

Do you monitor your use of curse words?

Do you really understand the power of your words?
